On July 24, Korean media reported that Korean company LC Square recently completed a Series B financing of 16.6 billion won (approximately RMB 93 million) and plans to start producing Micro LED interposers for TVs and wearable devices next year.
This round of investment was jointly participated by Samsung Venture Capital, Fluxus Ventures, Eugene Investment & Securities, Timefolio Asset Management, InterValue Partners, JL Partners and Kiren Ventures.
It is worth noting that this is the second time Samsung Ventures has invested in LC Square. At the end of last year, Korean media revealed that Samsung Ventures invested 6 billion won (approximately RMB 33.71 million) in LC Square.
After the completion of this financing, LC Square plans to establish a complete mass production system to enter the Micro LED display market. The company will expand its business into the XR device market after producing Micro LED interposers for TVs and wearable devices.

According to data, LC Square was established in 2019 and is the first company established by South Korea’s Advanced Nano Wafer Center. The company's team members come from well-known units and companies such as the Korea Nanotechnology Research Institute, Samsung Electronics' semiconductor, video display, and network business departments, and Lumens.
LC Square focuses on Micro LED technology and product development, including laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) technology, full-color (RGB) Micro LED interposer technology and Micro LED bonding technology.
Among them, the interposer is a temporary substrate used to temporarily place the Micro LED chips separated from the wafer before the Micro LED is finally transferred to the display driver substrate. Due to the tiny size of Micro LEDs, it is very difficult to clamp the Micro LEDs or arrange them on the driving circuit. The interposer of LC Square can make these tasks easier to perform. Previous reports showed that LC Square has established an interposer production line.
