MediaTek develops custom chips for Meta smart AR glasses

According to news on November 18, MediaTek held a summit forum in the United States and announced that it would cooperate with meta company to jointly develop the meta x Ray-Ban smart glasses chip, aiming to replace Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip.

The original Ray-Ban Storie smart glasses were equipped with 5 million pixels and could shoot up to 2592 x 1984 pixels; while the new glasses can shoot 3024 x 4032 pixels.

MediaTek has long been committed to developing low-power, high-performance SoCs. The focus of this cooperation with meta is to jointly create customized chips specially designed for AR smart glasses to meet the requirements of lightweight and compact devices. The cooperative product Ray-Ban meta smart glasses is expected to be launched in the future.
