Withdraw investment from ancient towns? Wenzhou lighting "army" returns to its roots after falling leaves

Last Thursday, Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce and Lucheng District Investment Promotion Bureau formally signed a letter of intent for cooperation on the International Lighting Headquarters Building project. The project plans to settle in Qidu World Wen Business Home, with an investment of about 1 billion yuan. After completion, the annual turnover will reach more than 5 billion yuan, and the annual tax payment will be 100 million to 200 million yuan. The person in charge of the Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce said that investment back home stems from "hometown complex" and will not affect members' investment and operations in the ancient town.
More than 60% of the ancient town’s tax revenue came from Wenzhou lighting companies
It is reported that the Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce currently has more than 400 Wenzhou member companies, of which members in the lighting industry account for about 70% of the total members. In the early 1990s, the prototype of the lighting industry cluster in Zhongshan Ancient Town was already emerging. However, the Aotengqiao lighting market in Wenzhou, which was once known as "the largest lighting market in China", was in poor condition. Many Wenzhou businessmen engaged in the lighting industry collectively moved out to the ancient town.
At that time, the lighting industry in Taiwan began to move to ancient towns, and the ancient towns purposefully supported it as a key industry, which accelerated the pace of relocation and investment by Wenzhou businessmen. Especially the wave of out-migration from 1999 to 2003 caused the Aotengqiao lighting market to further decline and depression, but it promoted the development of Zhongshan's lighting industry. In the past 20 years, Wenzhou people have grown bigger and bigger in the lighting industry in Zhongshan. Yang Yong, former president of the Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce, said, "Wenzhou lighting companies accounted for 60% to 70% of the entire ancient town's tax revenue."
Does returning home in groups mean divesting from the ancient town?
The Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce gathered together to "return to their hometown", and there was a return of funds. This move caused suspicion in the industry. As a Wenzhou enterprise that occupies half of the ancient town, does this move mean to withdraw investment from the ancient town? Yesterday, the person in charge of the Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce said that this group return to hometown investment will not affect the investment and operation of member units in the ancient town.
In June 2012, Wenzhou merchants in the ancient town completed the first wave of expansion, investing 3 billion yuan to build the "Wenzhou Lighting Industrial Park" covering an area of more than 1,600 acres. The industrial park has now been put into production in Jiangmen.
Regarding the return of this group, Yang Zhenqiao, president of the Zhongshan Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce, said, "This is the second expansion of the chamber of commerce by taking advantage of the advantages it has gained in the lighting field." At the same time, the Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government also issued a call for Wenzhou businessmen to return, which "resonates with the mood of each of us who have left home and returned to our roots." Yang Zhenqiao said that after the headquarters is completed, it will radiate to the surrounding area to form an agglomeration effect, which may further promote the return of the "army" of outdoor lighting.
