In 2022, the industry's output value will exceed 490 billion yuan, accounting for 36% of the world, continuing to rank first in the world; the output value of display panels will exceed 360 billion yuan, accounting for 48% of the world; the display panel shipment area will be 160 million square meters, accounting for 68.6% of the global market, a year-on-year increase of 5 percentage points, firmly occupying the first place in the world.
Yang Xudong introduced that my country's new display industry has gradually established its important position in the world and its technical capabilities have been greatly enhanced. The TFT-LCD field has achieved international leadership, AMOLED mass production capabilities have gradually increased, and various display technologies such as electronic paper, quantum dots, Mini/Micro LED, printed display, and laser display have accelerated their growth. Our country has become one of the countries with the most complete display types, the most active technological innovation, and the richest downstream applications. From the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics to the Chengdu Universiade, many new display products have made stunning appearances and become popular. In particular, the smart terminal industry in the Chengdu-Chongqing region has outstanding scale advantages. It produces 2/3 of the world's iPads, 50% of laptops and 10% of smartphones, making it the world's largest smart terminal production base.
The scale of Chengdu's display industry accounts for 15% of the country's total scale, with a completeness of the industry chain of 71% and an industry localization rate of 38%. It has also driven the accelerated development of the downstream intelligent terminal industry. Currently, Chengdu's personal computer output ranks second in the country and its projector market share is 20%, ranking first in the country. In 2022, the output value of the new display industry in the Chengdu-Chongqing region will account for more than 30% of the country's total, making it the world's largest OLED production base and the largest gathering place for China's flexible display industry.
