Sanken Electric, a Japanese LCD panel cold cathode lamp (CCFL) manufacturer, recently announced that it will withdraw from the CCFL business as LCD TV backlights continue to evolve toward LEDs, resulting in a continued decrease in CCFL demand.
It is understood that Sanken will stop producing CCFL products by the end of March 2015, and the CCFL production equipment will be gradually abandoned after the suspension of production.
