A few days ago, the contract for the overall road lighting LED renovation project in Mazhan Town, Cangnan County was officially signed. This marks the official launch of the first LED road lighting renovation project based on the "contract energy management model" in Wenzhou.
Contract energy management is a new market-oriented energy-saving mechanism. Its essence is an energy-saving investment method that uses reduced energy costs to pay for the entire cost of energy-saving projects. There are currently more than 2,200 street lights in Mazhan Town, Cangnan County, mainly energy-saving lamps and sodium lamps. With the extension of use time, their lighting effects have significantly declined, posing certain hidden dangers to road traffic safety. The market development team of Wenzhou Power Supply Company and relevant personnel of State Grid Zhejiang Zhejiang Energy Saving Service Co., Ltd. also discovered this problem after an on-site inspection. They communicated through the Cangnan County Rural Energy Office, and with the approval of the Mazhan Town People's Government, a comprehensive energy-saving renovation of the street lights in the entire town was carried out.
The renovation cost about 1.1 million yuan and adopted the contract energy management model. After the renovation is completed, the local area can save about 400,000 kilowatt hours of electricity and about 390,000 yuan in electricity bills. At the same time, it can save 140 tons of standard coal every year, which is more environmentally friendly. "Wenzhou Power Supply Company uses the contract energy management model to promote energy-saving renovation of street lamps, which not only comprehensively improves the road lighting effect without increasing government financial expenditures, but also promotes social energy conservation and consumption reduction, achieving a win-win situation for all parties." The relevant person in charge of Mazhan Town positively affirmed this approach.
